Rumors:
As with every highly anticipated game, there are plenty of rumors circulating about gameplay. Here is an archive of gameplay rumors.
-Oven Peripheral- Sources have just stated that Martha Stuart 3DS will come with a pre-heatable oven peripheral device. Developers say that the device is designed to give an enhanced user experience. The miniature oven comes complete with an interior battery that will warm as the player preheats the oven (done by sliding the temperature dial on the 3DS). Once the oven is preheated, a small bell will ding on the miniature oven. The device comes complete with adjustable oven racks and monogrammed oven mitts, made from designer fabric. It is rumored that the device will be a major part of the game, from being used to defeat enemies, to traveling through space and time. More information will be posted as we learn more about this revolutionary peripheral device. Below is a very rare leaked picture of the 3DS oven peripheral.
-Unlockable Characters- It is rumored that by completing side-quests, the following characters are unlockable: Oprah Winfrey, Rachel Ray, and Ellen DeGeneres.
-RPG Gameplay- Inside sources report that Martha Stewart 3DS will be a turn-based RPG. Along Martha's journey, she will recruit various partners, such as Emeril and Bobby Flay. The game is said to take place in 8 Chapters. The settings and goals of the chapters vary widely, from time traveling to the stone age to teach cavemen how to cook, to traveling to the distant future to bake the Martian emperor a cake (or my personal favorite, being arrested for insider trading and using your baking skills to break out).
-Preheating the oven- The most important part of the game revolves around pre-heating the oven. Shortly after preheating the oven, Martha will be visited by the ghost of Paula Dean. Paula Dean will give Martha the Magic Cake Armor, which will allow the player to cook advanced cake recipes. Preheating the oven at different points in the game will alter the ending of the game.
-Alternate Endings- According to secret sources, there will be 8 alternate endings. As of right now, only 3 of the endings have been revealed.
The Bad Ending - Never pre-heat the oven
You reach the final kitchen just in time to see Anthony Bourdain put a cake into the oven. He battles you and dies. No one takes the cake out of the oven and it burns. Smoke starts to fill the kitchen. Your party runs away. The screen goes black and tells you your game has been saved. It then goes back to the title screen.
The Good Ending - Pre-heat the oven in Chapter 3
You reach the final kitchen just in time to see Anthony Bourdain take the Fantastical cake out of the oven. The Fantastical Cake looks so delicious, you have no choice but to eat it. The cake turns out to be a trick. When Martha Stewart eats it, her soul is forced out of her body by the evil spirit imprisoned inside the cake. She then becomes Nega-Stewart. Nega-Stewart tells Anthony Bourdain that he has been helpful, but he will only get in her way. She stabs him. Your party fights Nega-Stewart, with Martha's soul taking the place of regular Martha Stewart (she will have all of the same stats as the regular Martha Stewart, so don't worry). When you defeat Nega-Stewart, the evil spirit flies into the oven to die. Martha's soul flies back into her body and you leave the kitchen. A screen shows up saying "THE END" and the credits roll.
The Best Ending - Pre-heat the oven in Chapter 2
You reach the final kitchen just in time to see Anthony Bourdain put a cake into the oven. He battles you. He is almost dead when he uses the last of his energy to take the Fantastical Cake out of the oven. He then dies. The Fantastical Cake looks so delicious, you have no choice but to eat it. The cake turns out to be a trick. When Martha Stewart eats it, her soul is forced out of her body by the evil spirit imprisoned inside the cake. She then becomes Nega-Stewart. Your party fights her, with Martha's soul taking the place of regular Martha Stewart (she will have all of the same stats as the regular Martha Stewart, so don't worry). When you defeat Nega-Stewart, the evil spirit flies into the oven to die. Martha's soul flies back into her body and you leave the kitchen. A screen shows up saying "THE END" and the credits roll.
NOTE - If Martha is wearing the Magic Cake Armor, her soul is unable to fly back into her body. You can still play the game after the final boss with Martha's soul. Also, Nega-Stewart stays in that kitchen, allowing you to fight her again.
